Blessed are the Persecuted

Updated: Mar 14, 2022

Mathew 5:1-12 Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness.

Persecution, hunger, poverty, prison time and more are all very real consequences for our Christian brothers and sisters in China. In a communist-run country, Christians fear every day for their lives and their faith. Although Christianity has grown immensely in the last 100 years in China there is still a huge need for prayer, intervention and more for these believers. In 1807 the number of Christians was practically 0, from a group of 25 people came a revolutionary series of events that led China to have over 97,000,000 Christians now living within the country. In 2018, the Chinese communist party closed many churches, persecuted,k imprisoned, and pressured many to give up their Christian faith. They removed the ability for people in China to buy Bibles from online resources, they removed crosses and other Christian relics and closed hundreds of churches. ⅕ of the world population lives in China, 1.2 billion of those are people are unsaved. With over 547 people groups in China, the majority of them are unreached and have no Bible translated in their languages; that's where ABN hopes to fill the gap. There is a prominent need for help for the churches there, the need to provide them with an accurate account of Christianity and not a communist-washed version of it. It has become more common for the country's officials to infuse Biblical stories with fallacies and heretical ideas to deter Christians and others away from the truth. Communism seeks to demolish all religions in order to put the regimes designated ruler at the top. To be worshiped above all. We hope that through this new channel we can combat the work that the enemy is doing in China, and spread the gospel in an accurate, speedily, and safe way.
